Cinema 4D Tutorial Egg with Inner Force Shattering from Inside
Cinema 4D Tutorial Script: Egg with Inner Force (Shattering from Inside)
In this tutorial, we’ll learn how to create a simple egg-shattering effect using Cinema 4D, where the egg cracks and shatters from an internal force. Follow these steps for an easy way to create this effect:
Step 1: Model the Egg
- Open Cinema 4D.
- Go to the Objects menu and select a Sphere.
- Change the type from "Standard" to Hemisphere in the Sphere's attributes.
- Adjust the scale to shape it like an egg. Scale the sphere on the Y-axis to stretch it vertically.
- Subdivision: Increase the subdivisions for a smooth shape (around 48).
Step 2: Add the Voronoi Fracture
- With the egg selected, go to MoGraph > Voronoi Fracture.
- Drag the egg object under the Voronoi Fracture in the Object Manager.
- This will pre-shatter the egg into fragments. To make it more natural, adjust the Voronoi Fracture settings:
- Go to Source and select Point Generator.
- Increase the number of points for finer cracking (around 100-200).
Step 3: Add Internal Force
- Now, create the inner force. Go to Simulate > Particles > Wind.
- Position the wind object inside the egg.
- Change the Direction to face outward (from the inside of the egg).
- Adjust the Strength and Turbulence to simulate internal pressure building up.
Step 4: Animate the Shattering
- Select the Voronoi Fracture object.
- Go to the Dynamics tag under Tags > Simulation Tags > Rigid Body.
- Go to the Force tab in the Dynamics settings and set At Rest to a lower value (like 5%) to simulate tension.
- Keyframe the inner force by going to frame 0 and setting Strength to 0.
- Move to frame 30, increase the Strength value, and add a keyframe.
- As the force increases, the egg will start to crack and eventually shatter.
Step 5: Enhance the Shatter
- Add light inside the egg to give the effect of an internal glow. Go to Objects > Light and place it inside the egg.
- Change the light’s color to something vibrant (e.g., orange or blue).
- Animate the intensity of the light, increasing it as the internal force grows.
Step 6: Rendering and Effects
- Go to Render Settings and enable Global Illumination and Ambient Occlusion for more realistic lighting.
- If you want to add a glowing particle effect, add emitters inside the egg to simulate particles flying out when it shatters.
- Finally, render the animation to see the egg crack and explode from the inner force.
Conclusion:
You've now created an egg-shattering effect in Cinema 4D using the Voronoi Fracture, internal forces, and simple animations. Experiment with different force values and light settings to enhance the realism. This technique can be applied to various objects for stunning destruction effects!
